Tiny Solar Panels are Fitted onto

These Smart Sunglasses

A pair of solar-powered sunglasses have been developed by a team at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), which allows wearers to generate enough clean energy to power the smart glasses' screen as they go about their day.

Research into solar energy has seen a massive influx due to a growing demographic of socially aware consumers who desire large companies to undergo environmental initiates. The wearable is able to harness enough solar energy to power its own interface, serving as an example of the innovation that's currently occurring.

KIT designed tiny solar panels, small enough to fit over the arms of any pair of traditional glasses. The compact device is powerful enough to harness 200 milliwatts of power -- enough to generate the glasses' embedded displays.
