The Spencer Customer Service Robot Helps Passengers Make Their Flights
Spencer is a customer service robot, introduced by Dutch airline KLM, that will soon be helping out passengers flying through and out of Schiphol Airport in the Dutch capital Amsterdam.
Schiphol is a popular transit point for many flyers. However flyers who don't speak the language or have difficulty navigating around airports could use a little bit of extra help to make sure they don't miss their flights, and this is where Spencer comes on. This customer robot language can guide travelers through airports in different languages.
This customer service robot uses programmed map data, accelerometers and range-finding lasers to move through the airport.
This robot isn't just some fun gimmick but could go some way towards reducing the costs that are incurred when passengers miss their flights.
