Lenovo has just launched the K8 Plus in India at an event in New Delhi. The K8 Plus is a successor to the K6 Power which was launched in India last year. It comes with a dual camera setup at the rear, a near stock build of Android and a sizeable 4,000mAh battery. The smartphone has been launched at a price of Rs 10,999 and is available in two colour variants, namely Fine Gold and Venom Black.
The K8 Plus will be available in two variants - one with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage for Rs 10,999 and a special holiday edition variant with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which will go on sale sometime in the future. Unlike the K8 Note which is available via Amazon India, the K8 Plus will go on sale from 12PM, 7 September onward exclusively via FlipkartDesign wise, the K8 Plus looks almost identical to the K8 Note with one big difference. While the K8 Note is built entirely out of metal, the K8 Plus has a plastic-metal hybrid chassis. Although the back plate is made out of metal, there are plastic inserts on the top and bottom in order to reduce costs.
One of the biggest talking points of the K8 Plus is the fact that it features a dual camera setup at the rear. Just like the K8 Note, the smartphone comes with a 13MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP secondary sensor, the addition of which allows you to take images with depth of field effects. Both sensors have an aperture of f/2.0 and can record video in up to 1080p resolution. On the front, there is an 8MP sensor with a 'Party Flash' that will help make the smartphone an attractive option for selfie aficionados.
The Lenovo K8 Plus is powered by the MediaTek Helio P25 processor paired with 3 or 4GB of RAM depending on the variant, a 4,000mAh battery and the Mali T880 GPU. Additionally, the smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card and runs on a near stock build of Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The K8 Plus comes with a 5.2-inch fullHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection against nicks and scratches. There is also a dedicated Music Key on board which can be used to skip tracks and play/pause music. It is also customisable - you can set it to turn on the flashlight, open any third party application or take a screenshot. Additionally, the smartphone comes with a few multimedia features like DolbyATMOS and TheatreMAX 2.0.
