This Japanese Robot Farm is Monitored By Autonomous Systems
Spread, a company based in the Japanese city of Kyoto, is set to apply high-tech automated systems to create a robot farm. This robotically run farm will feature automated systems taking care of every step of the farming process, from watering seeds all the way to harvesting the crops.
The only part of the farming process that will require human work is the seeding, with the rest taken care by industrial robots.
The key benefit of this robot farm is the reduction in cost, with energy expenses being reduced by a third and personnel costs cut by half. Indeed Spread may have come up with a wonderful way to use technology to reduce the environmental and financial costs of farming.
