Colombia are placed in Group A with India, Ghana and USA at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.(FIFA)
The first to land in India for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, Colombia coach Orlando Restrepo exuded confidence that his boys will put up a good show in the marquee junior event, starting October 6.
The South American nation is placed in Group A and will play two of its group matches in New Delhi and one match in Navi Mumbai.
Los Cafeteros coach Restrepo said: “We are delighted to be here. The boys and the staff are all looking forward to a competitive tournament where we will put our best foot forward.”
It will be Colombia’s sixth FIFA U-17 World Cup appearance though they haven’t played the last three editions of the tournament with Nigeria 2009 being the last FIFA U-17 World Cup they took part in.
The CONMEBOL team secured their World Cup berth by finishing third in the South American U-17 Championship that was held earlier this year.
Speaking about the first team’s arrival, Tournament Director of the Local Organising Committee, Javier Ceppi said, “It is very exciting to have Colombia as the first team coming into the country. With their arrival, the tournament now enters into the last stage, with the national teams starting their preparations actually on-ground to get used to the conditions in India.
“We encourage all fans to welcome all the teams that will start arriving from now onwards and to show the hospitality of this wonderful country.”
Besides Colombia and hosts India, the 22 remaining teams will be landing in India over the course of the next two weeks.

This lovely pooch interrupted a football game between San Lorenzo and Arsenal played in Argentina on the night of September 16, 2017, just to show off his outstanding soccer skills.

Much to the delight of spectators, the furry football fan somehow got on to the pitch to bite and play with the ball. After the match, the dog even gave a short interview — just wait till the end of this video!

Toni Kroos' decision to leave Bayern Munich and join Real Madrid was down to the lack of faith shown in him by chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
The staggering claim has been made by one of Kroos' closest friends and former youth teammate Stefan Reinhartz, who told the Bleacher Report that the playmaker reached "breaking point" at the Allianz Arena after Rummenigge's dismissal of his talents.
Kroos has gone on to become one of the leading lights in Zinedine Zidane's title-winning team in the Spanish capital, and Reinhartz explained how the Germany international's transfer to Santiago Bernabeu first came about in 2014.

He said: "Toni is a friend of mine, and I know the whole story. It was a little bit about money.

"Bayern Munich offered Toni a new contract. Toni knew what Mario Gotze was earning at Bayern Munich; Toni and Mario Gotze are [roughly] the same age. Bayern Munich didn't want to pay Toni more than €10 million.
"Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told Toni: 'We won't pay you more than €10 million a year because you're not a world-class player.'

"If you know Toni, it's not about money. He needs the confidence of other people. He knew he was a very good player, a world-class player. That was the breaking point."
The story is all the more baffling when you consider how Kroos' and Gotze's careers have panned out since then and, whilst Gotze is still plying his trade at a European giant in Borussia Dortmund, Kroos has certainly gone on to eclipse his former teammate.

Kroos has been touted with making a move to the Premier League in recent seasons, with Manchester United tentatively linked with signing him, and Reinhartz went on to reveal just how the 'silent Galactico' would improve any club he theoretically joined.
He added: "He has a really good overview of the pitch. You could cover his eyes with your hands, and he could still tell you on the right-hand side 50 metres away is Thomas Muller and on the left side is Mesut Ozil, 25 metres away.
"If it's possible to break the line [between midfield and defence], he'll play it, but if it's not possible, he won't play it. He doesn't make mistakes, and he rarely ever gets injured. It seems like it's effortless, like an easy Sunday morning run-out."

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has now claimed that all the pressure is on rivals Manchester City to win their title due to their heavy investment in the transfer market.
Pep Guardiola's side spent around £200 million in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of Benjamin Mendy, Kyle Walker, Danilo, Ederson and Bernardo Silva. They now lie joint top of the table along with United, with both teams having identical records so far after five games in the Premier League.

Herrera believes that City are under more pressure to win the league because they went trophyless last campaign and spent heavily on new players.
According to Goal, the Spain international said, "We won three titles last season [the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League] and Man City didn't win anything. They are under pressure. They are obligated to win something. They have more obligation than us."

City have spent the biggest amount in the Premier League so they are the principle contenders for the title. We have quality as well, but because of the money they have spent, they are the favourites."
"We will try to be there. There is pressure when you spend a lot but there is also pressure on us because we are the biggest club in England. But you know when you play for United that you are under an obligation to win things and I like that obligation," he added.
Both the Manchester sides are favorites to battle it out for the title and both will look to maintain their top spot in the table. Manchester City next take on bottom placed team Crystal Palace while Manchester United travel to Southampton.

Italian great Valentino Rossi has not ruled out a return to MotoGP in Spain this weekend, three weeks after breaking his right leg, after getting back on a bike for some test laps on Monday.
Yamaha said the 38-year-old, whose doctors had advised a 30-40 day recovery period, had ridden around the Misano circuit near his home in eastern Italy on a YZF-R1M road bike to “put his fitness level to the test”.
The evaluation was inconclusive after rain forced him to cut the session short, however. “He will decide by the end of Wednesday… whether he will attempt to take part in this weekend’s Gran Premio Movistar de Aragon,” Yamaha said.
Motorsport.com quoted his father Graziano as saying Rossi had completed seven or eight laps and hoped to test again on Tuesday. “I was told he felt a lot of pain in his right leg, but he could not determine in so few laps whether a return at Aragon could be possible,” he said.
Rossi, a nine-times world champion, suffered a double fracture in an accident while riding an off-road enduro bike on Aug. 31.
He missed the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano and Yamaha said last week that Dutch Superbike rider Michael van der Mark would replace him at Aragon on Sept 24.
The Italian is fourth overall and 42 points adrift of Honda’s Marc Marquez and Ducati’s Andrea Dovizioso, who are tied at the top of the championship.
The race at the Motorland Aragon circuit is the 14th round of the 18 race season. Yamaha team boss Lin Jarvis said last week he doubted Rossi would go there unless he felt he could be fighting for the top five or six positions.
In 2010, Rossi broke his right leg in practice for the Italian Grand Prix, and returned to MotoGP after an absence of six weeks.

Madrid: Paulinho scored his first Barcelona goal as the visitors came from a goal down to win 2-1 at Getafe on Saturday and open up a seven-point lead over Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
Barca were dealt a double blow before half-time as record signing Ousmane Dembele limped off with a hamstring injury, before Gaku Shibasaki`s sensational volley put Getafe in front.
However, Barca`s often maligned substitutes` bench came to their rescue as Denis Suarez and Paulinho came on in the second half to turn the game around.
"I`m very happy to score the goal. It was the winner which was the most important thing," Paulinho told Barca TV.
"It was a difficult game because Getafe have players with quality and we conceded the first goal but we were calm, had patience and went looking for the result."
A depleted Madrid, without the suspended Cristiano Ronaldo, travel to Real Sociedad on Sunday looking to avoid dropping points for a third straight La Liga game.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid open their new 68,000 capacity Wanda Metropolitano stadium at home to Malaga later on Saturday.
Barca boss Ernesto Valverde made just one change from the side that swept aside Italian champions Juventus 3-0 on Tuesday with Sergi Roberto replacing Nelson Semedo at right-back.
Yet, rather than building on the momentum of four straight wins, Barca looked sluggish as Getafe enjoyed the better of the early stages.
"Fortunately, it was an important test for us. We managed to turn the game around and that power of reaction the team had means a lot," said Valverde.
The hosts should have gone in front when Gerard Pique nearly turned Shibasaki`s cross into his own net and Jorge Molina somehow only fired into the side-netting at the far post.
Barca`s flow was further disrupted when Dembele limped off with a reported hamstring injury that could see him sidelined for the coming weeks.
The visitors had barely got 11 players back on the field as Gerard Deulofeu replaced the Frenchman, before they fell behind.
Roberto`s headed clearance fell invitingly for Shibasaki, who made his name with two goals against Real Madrid in last year`s Club World Cup final for Kashima Antlers, to thunder an unstoppable dipping volley beyond Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Barca nearly responded before half-time as only a stunning finger-tip save from Vicente Guaita turned Lionel Messi`s free-kick behind.
Valverde made another change at the start of the second period as Denis Suarez replaced Iniesta.
And it was the substitute who inspired Barca`s revival as he collected Roberto`s cut-back from the right wing before bending the ball high past Guaita into the top corner.
With Messi well-marshalled and Luis Suarez way off form for most of the second period, Getafe had chances to grab a winner themselves.
Ter Stegen was called into action twice in quick sucession to save from Alvaro Jimenez and Mauro Arambarri.
However, the hosts were hit with a sucker punch when Paulinho burst onto Messi`s through ball and smashed across the despairing Guaita into the far corner.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain badly lacks self-belief after struggling to live up to early expectations at Arsenal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain completed a £35million move to Anfield this summer, following an underwhelming six-year spell in north London, and Klopp is confident he can get the best out of the 24-year-old England star.
Klopp suggests Oxlade-Chamberlain was ‘relieved’ to join Liverpool and the German is ready to hand his new signing a start against Leicester City in the EFL Cup on Tuesday evening.
Ahead of the clash, Klopp said: ‘It would be strange for me to say it after two and half weeks when Arsene Wenger said this after working with him for six years.
‘But a new start is very often a kind of relief, that’s how it is. You are in a situation with your old club – and I don’t say this about Alex specifically – and you accept it and it is difficult to make the next step.’

Liverpool’s manager believes Oxlade-Chamberlain has confidence issues but stresses that the Englishman has settled in well on Merseyside.
‘I thought it made complete sense for Alex to change club and to come here. So far I can’t see that [he lacks self-belief].
‘He has settled in perfectly. He knows the situation.
‘He played all the games for Arsenal from the beginning and now he comes here and is on the bench so it looks “Oh, not the best decision” but it is long-term thing.
‘We want to use him and to prepare him also. It is all good from this side at the moment.’

Montevideo: Lionel Messi and Argentina will seek to maintain the pressure on Chile with a victory over Venezuela tomorrow as South America's 2018 World Cup qualifying race enters the home stretch.
A faltering campaign has left Argentina fifth in the standings with three games remaining, just outside the top four spots which guarantee automatic entry to next year's finals in Russia.
It would still take a dramatic sequence of results for the unthinkable -- a World Cup without Argentina and Messi -- to become reality.
Even if Jorge Sampaoli's side fail to lock up automatic qualification, and finish fifth, they would still be favourites to qualify via a two-leg playoff against a team from Oceania, almost certain to be New Zealand.
Yet the gloom that has enveloped the Argentinian squad throughout the qualifiers means that little is being taken for granted ahead of yesterday's game at the Estadio Monumental in Buenos Aires.
An uninspiring 0-0 draw with Uruguay in Montevideo on Thursday left Argentina level on 23 points with fourth-placed Chile, who lead on goal difference.
Sampaoli is expected to persist with the bulk of the team who started against Uruguay, with Messi leading a potent front three that features Paulo Dybala and Mauro Icardi. Javier Mascherano could return for the suspended Gabriel Mercado, while Ever Banega may replace Guido Pizarro.
Argentina were frustrated by a Uruguayan side which defended in depth and packed the midfield. With Venezuela likely to use similar tactics, Sampaoli has urged his team to be more aggressive tomorrow.

"We have to be more aggressive in the last third and get more people in the area," he said following the Uruguay stalemate.
"We have to ensure that the team wins. We have to win so that Argentina can be at the World Cup in Russia."
Chile turmoil
Despite the nervyness of Argentina's campaign, their fans can console themselves by the thought that Chile have hardly been any more convincing.
The South American champions owe their fourth place in the table to a FIFA sanction which converted a 0-0 home draw with Bolivia into a 3-0 win after the Bolivians fielded an ineligible player.
The Chileans face Bolivia again tomorrow in La Paz, an awkward tie at altitude even if their opponents, who are already eliminated, have little to play for.
Chile's faltering qualification campaign suffered a fresh jolt last week with an abject 3-0 home defeat to Paraguay in Santiago.
The Chileans, who clinched back-to-back Copa America titles in 2015 and 2016, have been beset by turmoil, with Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez struggling to find his best form and captain Arturo Vidal raging at his media critics.
Vidal, who scored a spectacular headed own goal in the loss to Paraguay, took to Twitter to vent his frustration after the loss, even hinting that he may quit the national team.
"I'm sure all the critics are happy now," Vidal wrote. "But don't worry, each time I'm closer to leaving."
It was left to Chile coach Juan Antonio Pizzi to strike a defiant note as his team head to La Paz, insisting that his squad would rediscover the attacking vigour that won them their Copa America crowns.
"We are convinced that we will find the identity that made us champions of South America twice," Pizzi said.
Elsewhere tomorrow, second-placed Colombia host Brazil, who have already qualified and are guaranteed top spot.
Third-placed Uruguay meanwhile face a testing away trip to seventh-placed Paraguay, who could thrust themselves back into the qualification reckoning with a win. Paraguay are on 21 points, just two behind Argentina and Chile.
Peru (21 points) could also enhance their chances if they manage to score a third consecutive win in their assignment in Quito against eighth-placed Ecuador (20 points).
