Motorola Has Unveiled a 360-Degree

Moto Mod Camera

At a small event in Ghana, West Africa, Motorola has unveiled its plans for the 'Moto Mod Camera.'

This modular smartphone attachment lets users capture 360-degree images by attaching atop the plastic Moto Mod backplate. With lenses on both sides of the camera, this Moto Mod camera is one of the smallest 360-degree cameras on the market. The mod attaches via magnets on top of the smartphone case and has a self-contained battery unit. Motorola promised consumers up to 12 modular add-ons per year for its Moto Z, Z Play, or Z2 Play compatible modular case system. No details on pricing or availability have been released yet.

Motorola's largest competitor in the modular smartphone market is 'Essential,' creators of the 'Essential Phone.' Essential has promised a 360-degree camera attachment but that has yet to be released.
